Dionne Verwey is a performing artist and creative entrepreneur. She graduated from the Mime School in 2012, receiving the Top Naeff Prize for her graduation performance MAN. Since then, she has worked with renowned theatre companies such as Theatergroep Oostpool, de Toneelmakerij, Theater Rotterdam, and Club Guy and Roni. In 2016, her collective Sir Duke joined the company Orkater as a newcomer.
She is the recipient of the Top Naeff Prize (2012) and the Joop Mulder Plak (2020), and was twice nominated for the Colombina Award for Best Supporting Actress at the Dutch Theater Festival (2018 and 2021). In 2021, she completed a Master’s in Creative Producing, expanding her practice with a socially engaged and entrepreneurial approach.
Her screen work includes Zina, Flikken Rotterdam, A’dam–E.V.A., the TV movie Romaissa, and short films such as Elements and Yulia & Juliet. In 2023, she appeared in The Story of Travis at Het Nationale Theater.
In 2025, Dionne will present Kapsalon de Musical at the O. Festival in Rotterdam and take part in TRACK 2025, a multidisciplinary performance route at TR25 Schouwburg.
