Evgenia Brendes is a Belgian-Russian actress, born on April 23, 1989, in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. At the age of eleven, she moved to Belgium with her parents and settled in Antwerp. There, she joined the Russian theatre company Antwerpriza, where she discovered her passion for acting. In addition to her love for performance, Evgenia has been a trained dancer and pianist since the age of five.
She earned her Master’s degree in Acting from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2014. Since graduating, she has performed in numerous stage productions, including Medea (ITA), De Kersentuin (tgSTAN), King Lear (Het Paleis & Zuidelijk Toneel), Ondine (HNT), and Dounia B (Het Paleis & Marhatentatief). For her role in Dounia B, she received the award for ‘Most Appreciated Theater Actress’ in Belgium.
Evgenia has also built a strong on-screen career, with lead roles in Problemski Hotel (dir. Manu Riche) and two seasons of the acclaimed Flemish series Over Water (VRT, now on Netflix). She appeared in season 4 of the Dutch hit series Mocro Maffia and most recently starred in the Belgian series Styx.
In 2025, Evgenia will return to the screen in the second season of the acclaimed Netflix series De Twaalf.
