Mona Mina Leon

Mona Mina Leon is a Belgian actress working across theatre and screen, known for her versatility and compelling performances in both dramatic and contemporary productions. Since graduating in Drama from RITCS in Brussels in 2018, she has built an international theatre background and established herself in Belgian television, earning recognition for her leading roles in acclaimed series.

During her studies, Mona completed an internship at HNT, where she performed in Ondine. After graduating, she was selected for the graduate actor position at Melbourne’s Red Stitch Theatre Ensemble, where she spent two years developing her craft. During this period, she appeared in Pomona, directed by Gary Abrahams, a production nominated for the Green Room Awards.

Upon returning to Belgium, Mona continued her theatre work with Montignards#5, performing in productions including Retour and So You Think You Can. Her stage experience has contributed to her dynamic approach to character development and her ability to move between different performance styles.

Mona made her screen debut in Stacey and the Alien (2016), directed by Nelson Polfliet, followed by Étangs Noirs (2018), directed by Time De Keyser and Piet Dumoulin. Her breakthrough came with the acclaimed television series 1985, in which she portrayed Vicky Verhellen. The series attracted international attention and was selected for the 2022 edition of Canneseries and the Berlinale Series Market.

In 2025, Mona took on the leading role of Yasmine De Laet in Holy Sh!t!, a series also selected for Canneseries. Her performance brought further recognition, earning her a nomination for an Ensor Award for Best Actress in a Series in Belgium, as well as an International Emmy nomination for Best Actress.

That same year, she appeared in the series Drift, portraying Luna, further expanding her screen work. She is set to appear in the upcoming series Strike, in which she plays Kim.
